How the language is picked for you
- If you pasted a link and the product page says which language it is in, and that language is one of the 21, Image Ads uses it.
- Otherwise it reads your product title and description and uses the language they are written in.
- If it can't tell, it uses English.
Your own pick under Language always wins over the automatic one.
To change it yourself:
- Press the Language · English chip. A sheet called Language opens: "The words on your ads and the lettering in the pictures use this language. Changing it writes new words for the rows you have not edited."
- Tap a language row, for example Spanish · Español.
- Check Words on your ads — the rows you have not edited are rewritten in the new language — then press Make N ads · X credits.
Tips per writing system
| Languages | Tip |
|---|---|
| Arabic, Persian, Hebrew | These read right-to-left. Keep headlines short so they fit the layout. |
| Chinese, Japanese, Korean | Each character takes about the space of two Latin letters, so each row allows about half as many characters. |
| Thai, Hindi, Russian, Ukrainian, Greek | Characters take about the same space as Latin letters. |
| Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Turkish, Vietnamese | Accents and special letters (such as ñ, ç, ß, ğ) are drawn as part of the words. Read every line once before you press Make. |
Use when / Avoid when
| Use when | Avoid when |
|---|---|
| You sell to customers who read one of these 21 languages | Your market's language is not on the list — the ads fall back to English |
| You want the words inside the picture translated too | You need a mix of two languages in one ad — pick one per set |
Example
Your shop page is in Malay. Paste the link: the Language chip already reads Malay. Keep it, check the headline in Words on your ads, and press Make. To make the same set in English for another market, open Language, tap English, and press Make again.
FAQ
How many languages does Image Ads support?
21, from English and Chinese to Arabic, Hindi, Malay and Indonesian. English is the default.
Does Reviral pick the language for me?
Yes. It uses your product page's own language, or the language of your product text, and falls back to English. You can change it under Language at any time.
Will my edited words be rewritten when I change language?
No. Changing the language writes new words only for the rows you have not edited.
Does a different language cost more?
The language is not part of the price. The Make button shows the total for the set before you press it.
