Published prices for a traditional commercial
Production: Simulmedia's 2026 guide puts most professionally produced 30-second commercials at $10,000 to $50,000, local production at $3,000 to $15,000 and national production at $50,000 to $500,000. C&I Studios, a production company, says most business and brand commercials land between $15,000 and $200,000 in 2026.
Airtime is a separate cost: the same Simulmedia guide lists $200,000 to $1 million for a 30-second broadcast prime-time spot, and NBCUniversal charged about $8 million on average for 30 seconds in Super Bowl LX in February 2026. C&I Studios notes broadcast airtime often costs ten times the production budget or more.
Read from each site's own page on 21 October 2026: Simulmedia: TV ad production costs, C&I Studios: 30-second commercial cost, TVLine: Super Bowl 2026 commercial cost, eMarketer: Super Bowl LX ad price.
Where the money goes in a filmed commercial
A filmed spot pays for a script, a director and crew, actors, a location, equipment and editing, and each change after the shoot usually means another day. An AI commercial replaces the shoot with a render, so a new hook or a new product colour is one more render rather than a reshoot.
