Reels Ads: Make, Boost and Run Ads on Reels

Reels ads are video ads shown between reels on Instagram and Facebook; you run them by choosing the Reels placement in Meta Ads Manager or by boosting a reel you already posted. Reviral makes the ad itself, a 15-second 9:16 video from your product photos, for 278 credits (~$3.47) at 720p.

  • Run: the Reels placement in Ads Manager
  • Boost: reels of 90 seconds or less, 9:16
  • Earn: Meta's invite-only Content Monetization
  • Make the ad: 15 seconds, 9:16, from photos

Three ways ads and Reels meet

Run an ad: in Meta Ads Manager choose the Reels placements at the ad set level; Instagram Reels ads appear in the Reels tab between other reels and can be up to 15 minutes, full-screen vertical. Boost a reel: open the reel on your profile, tap Boost, then pick a goal, audience, budget and duration. Earn from ads as a creator: Meta's old Ads on Reels program ended on 31 August 2025 and now lives inside Facebook Content Monetization, which is invite-only.

Making a Reels ad people watch

Meta recommends 9:16 vertical video for Reels and may fit other sizes with templates. A 15-second Reviral ad covers a hook, one proof moment and the product name; the storyboard is written free so you can test three hooks before rendering one.

On Facebook Reels, post-loop ads stopped in November 2025; ads still reach the Reels placement as overlay ads.

How do I run ads on Reels?
In Meta Ads Manager, set the placements at the ad set level and include the Reels placements for Instagram and Facebook, then upload the 9:16 video.
