Synthetic performer or digital replica
SAG-AFTRA's guide to its 2023 TV and theatrical contract defines a synthetic performer as a wholly digital reproduction that appears to be a person but does not resemble a recognizable performer and is not voiced by a person. A digital replica is a replica of a real person's voice or likeness made with technology such as AI.
Under that contract, producers must notify the union if they create synthetic performers and bargain over pay. Outside union film work, the practical rule is consent: only use a real person's face or voice with their permission.

How AI actors are used in ads
In Reviral's UGC studio, the creator picker is where the AI actor comes from: pick a ready-made face from the gallery, generate a new face from a description (the price shows on the button first), or upload your own photo for free, and keep up to 15 saved faces. Up to two more people can join the first one in the same ad.
The actor holds your product and says the spoken lines from the free storyboard, in a 15-second 9:16 or 16:9 clip.
What an AI actor video costs
A 15-second ad with an AI actor costs 278 credits (~$3.47) at 720p; picking a gallery face or uploading a photo adds nothing. Sign-up gives 100 free credits with no card, and the exact charge shows before anything renders. You must have the rights to any face or voice you upload; your own face is fine.

Frequently asked questions
Are AI actors real people?+
A synthetic performer is not: it is generated and resembles no real person. A digital replica copies a real person, which is why their consent is needed.
Do AI actor videos need a label?+
On YouTube and TikTok, realistic AI people need a label or disclosure; YouTube asks creators to disclose AI content that seems realistic, and TikTok requires a label on AI content showing realistic people.
Can I use my own face as an AI actor?+
Yes. Upload your photo in the creator picker for free and save it; it then appears in your ads without filming.
