Etsy Ad Cost: Etsy Ads vs Offsite Ads Fees
Etsy has two ad costs: Etsy Ads, a daily budget from $1 charged per click, and Offsite Ads, 15% or 12% of a sale from Etsy's ads on other sites, capped at $100 per order. On Reviral, the ad picture itself costs 3 credits (~$0.04).

Etsy's two ad programs side by side
| Program | How you pay | Limits |
|---|---|---|
| Etsy Ads (inside Etsy) | Per click; clicks are added up each day and charged the next day | $1 minimum daily budget; every seller starts with a $25 maximum; never over your budget |
| Offsite Ads (Google, social and partner sites) | 15% of an order from an ad click within 30 days; 12% once your shop has made $10,000 in 365 days | Never more than $100 per order; no budget setting |

Who can turn Offsite Ads off
Shops that have always made under $10,000 in any 365-day period can opt out in Shop Manager settings. Shops that reach $10,000 must stay in for the life of the shop and get the lower 12% rate.
A new shop waits 15 days after opening before it can start an Etsy Ads campaign.

The ad picture is a separate cost
Etsy places the ad; you still need the picture. Image Ads turns one product photo into a finished square or 4:5 ad picture for 3 credits (~$0.04), with layouts such as Verified Review Card or Offer / Promotion.

Frequently asked questions
Do I pay for Etsy Ads if nobody clicks?+
No. Etsy charges Etsy Ads only when a shopper clicks your ad, and Offsite Ads only when a click leads to a purchase.
Can I avoid the Offsite Ads fee?+
Yes, if your shop has always made less than $10,000 in any 365 days: you can opt out. After $10,000, the fee drops to 12% but you cannot opt out.
What is the most Etsy can charge for one Offsite Ads sale?+
$100. Etsy's help page says the Offsite Ads fee never exceeds $100 for an order, whatever the order total.
