Omni Flash prompt guide: how to write a prompt that works

A good Omni Flash prompt names, in this order, who is in the shot, what they wear and do, where it happens and what the light comes from, one camera move, the sound and the last frame. Google built Gemini Omni Flash to take text, images and video together, and on Reviral you can add up to 3 reference images, so describe what can be seen and heard. One clip runs 4, 6 or 10 seconds for 25 credits.

6 rules for a Omni Flash prompt

  1. 1.Start with the person and the action

Put who is in the shot and what they do first; camera and light go in the middle, sound at the end.

“A woman in her early twenties of Somali heritage ... rides a glass-sided escalator down through a quiet shopping mall toward the camera, then steps off.”

  2. 2.Name every garment by fabric and colour

Fabric tells the model how a piece moves and catches light.

“a glossy safety-orange (#F26B1D) puffer jacket zipped to the chin, olive (#5E6B2E) baggy cargo trousers”

  3. 3.Give every movement a cause

Say what moves the fabric: a step, the wind, a strap swinging.

“the crossbody strap swings once against the puffer and the quilted channels crease at the elbows”

  4. 4.One camera move per clip

Pick one move and the lens.

“35mm lens, one slow backward dolly at her walking pace”

  5. 5.Give every light a source

Say what the light comes from; a light with a cause lands where you expect it.

“the mall's white skylight above lays bright stripes across the shiny nylon”

  6. 6.Write the sound and the last frame

Say what is heard, then end with the frame the clip should stop on.

“Final image: she stops at waist-up, the strap settling against her hip.”

Each video prompt follows the rules above, in the same order. Next to it: the settings it is written for and the credits it costs on Reviral.

  1. 1. Orange puffer on a mall escalator

    6 s · 720P · 9:16 · 25 credits

A woman in her early twenties of Somali heritage with deep brown skin, short bleached-blonde cropped hair and black cat-eye glasses rides a glass-sided escalator down through a quiet shopping mall toward the camera, then steps off. She wears a glossy safety-orange (#F26B1D) puffer jacket zipped to the chin, olive (#5E6B2E) baggy cargo trousers with side pockets, a small black crossbody bag, chunky grey trainers. As she steps off, the crossbody strap swings once against the puffer and the quilted channels crease at the elbows; face still, chin level, eyes on the lens. Camera: 35mm lens, one slow backward dolly at her walking pace, full body to waist-up. Light: the mall's white skylight above lays bright stripes across the shiny nylon, the escalator's steel sides reflect the orange. Sound: the escalator hum, her trainers squeaking on the polished floor, a soft mall announcement chime. Final image: she stops at waist-up, the strap settling against her hip.

  2. 2. Navy sailor top on harbour steps

    6 s · 720P · 9:16 · 25 credits

A woman in her late twenties of Japanese heritage with light skin, a straight black bowl cut ending just above the eyebrows and small silver hoop earrings walks down a flight of stone harbour steps toward the camera on a bright windy morning. She wears a navy (#1B2340) sailor top with a wide square collar trimmed in two white stripes, a pleated white skirt to the knee, navy knee socks, red (#B5242F) patent shoes. The sea wind lifts the square collar off her shoulders and swings the pleats at every step; on the last step she stops and the collar drops back flat. Her face stays deadpan, eyes on the lens. Camera: 50mm lens, one slow tilt down with her as she descends, ending at full body. Light: low morning sun from the side makes the white trims glow and throws the railing's shadow across the steps. Sound: gulls, small waves on the stone, her heels on the steps. Final image: she stands still at the bottom step, the collar settled, boats bobbing behind her.

  3. 3. Teal flare suit in a hotel lobby

    6 s · 720P · 9:16 · 25 credits

A woman in her early sixties of Indian heritage with warm brown skin, silver hair in a low bun and large gold hoop earrings walks across a marble hotel lobby toward the camera in the late afternoon. She wears a fitted teal (#0E7C7B) single-breasted wool suit with high-waisted trousers flaring wide from the knee, a cream (#F2E8D5) and ochre (#C98E2B) paisley shirt collar laid over the lapels, tan leather loafers. The wide flares swing at every step and the hoop earrings sway; halfway across she adjusts one cuff with her other hand, face still, eyes on the lens. Camera: 50mm lens, one slow push-in from full body to waist-up. Light: warm sunlight through the tall lobby windows lays long bright bands across the marble floor, she walks through them so the suit lights up and dims in turn. Sound: her loafers on marble, a distant piano, the lobby's quiet murmur. Final image: she stops at waist-up in a band of sunlight, the earrings still swaying.
