Nano Banana Pro Prompt Guide with Tested Examples

Each prompt is printed exactly as we sent it, next to the picture it made on the first try. All five ran on the 4-credit Nano Banana Pro option at 2K. Pictures are shown reduced to at most 1,600 px on the long side.

1. 01

   Labelled diagram (3:4)

   Prompt (exact, 4 credits, ready in 40 s): Generate a single image: a clean labelled cutaway diagram titled "Inside a running shoe" in bold dark-grey sans-serif across the top. A plain, unbranded running shoe in light grey and coral is shown from the side and cut open lengthwise so its layers are visible: the knit upper, the padded heel counter, the removable insole, the foam midsole and the rubber outsole with its tread. Thin straight leader lines run from each part to a short label in the white margin: "Knit upper", "Heel counter", "Insole", "Foam midsole", "Rubber outsole". The shoe looks like a real product photo under soft even studio light from above, which puts one soft highlight along the toe and a faint shadow under the outsole. Plain white background with generous margins. Every label is spelled exactly as written and readable on a phone; the page carries only the title and these five labels, on a clean surface; the shoe and the page carry no brand names or logos anywhere — no wordmarks, no logo stripes or swooshes on the upper — and no watermark.

   Two scripts on one sign (16:9)

   Prompt (exact, 4 credits, ready in 41 s): Generate a single image: a photo of a hand-painted menu board hanging above a noodle stall at a night market. The board is dark green with cream lettering. At the top it reads "ครัวแม่น้อย" in Thai script with "Mae Noi Kitchen" underneath. Below are three dishes, each with the Thai name, the English name under it, and the price on the right: "ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเรือ" / "Boat noodles" / "RM 9"; "ผัดไทย" / "Pad Thai" / "RM 11"; "ข้าวมันไก่" / "Chicken rice" / "RM 10". A bare warm bulb hanging in front of the board lights it from the lower left, so the brush strokes show a slightly raised texture and the right corner falls into shadow; steam from a pot below drifts across the bottom edge. Behind the board, out of focus, strings of lights and people walking past. Every word is spelled exactly as given in both scripts, sharp and readable, and the board carries only these words.

   Cinematic scene lit by a flame (16:9)

   Prompt (exact, 4 credits, ready in 42 s): Generate a single image: a wok cook at a hawker stall at night tosses flat rice noodles in a blackened wok while a burst of orange flame leaps up from the wok's edge as the oil catches. He is in his forties, in a white singlet with a small towel over one shoulder, forearms shining with sweat, eyes on the noodles. The flame is the main light: it throws warm orange light up onto his face and chest from below. A cool white fluorescent tube behind the stall lights the steam and smoke from behind and separates him from the dark street. Plastic stools and a few diners sit blurred in the background. Low camera at wok height, the cook on the right third, the flame near the centre of the frame. Film still, rich contrast, fine grain.

   Product photo with a label (4:5)

   Prompt (exact, 4 credits, ready in 46 s): Generate a single image: one slim 355 ml can of ZUMIA grapefruit sparkling water: coral-pink aluminium with a white line drawing of a grapefruit slice and the word "ZUMIA" printed vertically in white, sits half-buried in crushed ice inside an open blue picnic cooler on the sand. Cold condensation beads cover the can because it has been in the ice for an hour. Hard afternoon sun from the upper right puts one sharp highlight stripe down the can and makes the ice crystals sparkle; the raised cooler lid throws a clean shadow across the left side of the ice. Behind, out of focus, the sea and a striped beach towel. Camera slightly above, looking down about 30 degrees, the can in the centre with its label facing the camera. The can carries only its printed word and drawing, and the rest of the picture is a clean scene with no added text or watermark.

   

5. 05

   Four-panel comic (16:9)

   Prompt (exact, 4 credits, ready in 45 s): Generate a single image: a four-panel comic strip laid out as a 2 x 2 grid with thin white gutters, drawn in clean flat colour with bold ink outlines. The same orange tabby cat with a white chest and a bent left ear appears in every panel. Panel 1: the cat sits on a kitchen counter staring at a whole fried fish on a plate beside the sink. Panel 2: the cat slides one paw toward the plate while a woman in a yellow apron washes dishes with her back turned. Panel 3: the woman turns around; the plate is empty and the cat sits upright with its eyes closed, looking innocent. Panel 4: under the table, the cat eats the fish with a satisfied grin, and a speech bubble above it reads "Worth it." Warm afternoon light from a kitchen window on the left falls the same way in every panel, and the kitchen layout stays the same throughout. The only text in the image is that one speech bubble, spelled exactly.
