# Canvas step by step

> Canvas is a board where you make pictures, turn them into videos and stitch 2 to 20 clips into one film for 0 credits. Follow the steps and build one.

Canvas is an open board (a big drawing table you can scroll around) where each picture, video, sound or note is a card. You make a picture from words, press **Make video** to bring it to life, then select your finished clips and join them into one film. You see the credit price on every Generate button before you pay; stitching and the Director chat are free.

**Who can use it:** any signed-in account, from the left menu row **Canvas** (marked NEW) or at `/app/canvas`. The **Make video** button on a picture appears only while video making is switched on for Canvas.

## Steps

1. **Open your board.** Press **Canvas** in the left menu. Your first board is called "My first board". An empty board says "Type what you want below, or upload a photo".
2. **Make a picture.** In the box at the bottom ("Describe the picture you want"), type your idea. Pick the model, picture size and how many pictures, then press **Generate · {N} credits**. The finished picture appears on the board as a card.
3. **Turn it into a video.** Select the picture card and press **Make video**. Describe the motion in "Describe how the picture should move…", then set **Video model**, **Video resolution**, **Video duration**, **Video aspect ratio** and **Video count**. Press **Generate · {N} credits**. If the video shape differs from the picture, Canvas warns: "Different shape than your picture — the sides/top will be trimmed to fit."
4. **Make your next shot.** Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each shot of your film.
5. **Select the clips in order.** Press **V** (the **Move** tool: "drag to select several cards") and select 2 to 20 ready videos in the order they should play. A bar shows "{n} selected · order shown on each tile".
6. **Stitch.** Press **Stitch into one video · 0 credits**. When it finishes you see "Stitched video ready. The original clips are unchanged."
7. **Download.** On a video card press **Download video**; on a picture card press **Download photo**. Stitched videos also appear in your [Projects](https://reviral.ai/docs/my-files).

**Plan with the Director first (free).** Press **Director** on the board. Its header reads "Plan first. Nothing here spends credits." Tell it what you are making; it suggests draft pictures and prompts, and nothing is made until you press a priced Generate button. Press **Use this prompt** to use its prompt.

## Troubleshooting

| Message | What to do |

| "Choose 2 to 20 different ready videos to stitch." | Select at least 2 and no more than 20 finished videos. |
| "Every selected video must finish before stitching." | Wait until each selected clip is ready. |
| "Choose videos with the same shape before stitching." | Use clips that share one frame shape, for example all 9:16. |
| "A stitched video is already being made. Wait for it to finish." | Wait for the current stitch. |
| "The videos could not be stitched. Try again." | Press **Stitch into one video · 0 credits** again. |
| "You need more credits before making this video." | Top up, then press Generate again. |
| "This video model is temporarily unavailable. Choose another model." | Pick another **Video model**. |
| "Video generation is not available right now." | Video making is switched off for now; pictures still work. |
| "The picture did not finish within 30 minutes. Contact support if you were charged." | Remove the card and try again; write to [support](https://reviral.ai/docs/support) if credits left your balance. |
| "Stored only in this browser. Your boards will move to your account when server storage is ready." | Your board is saved on this computer only for now; don't clear your browser data. |
| "This browser could not save the board. Free some space, then press Retry save." | Free space on your device, then press **Retry save**. |
